Hectic Week

So finally this hectic week came to an end =)
Thanks for all the tolerance given to my mistakes throughout the week =D

So how hectic was this week? Despite my studies and work, following indicates what happened =D

As a Earthlink CMO member, me having an event called Greening NTU from Monday till Thursday.
Greening NTU aimed to encourage NTU population to be more environmental friendly by reduce solid waste. The campaign covered 4 main aspects, "Bring Your Own Bag" (My main focus) , "Double Sided Printing", "Ditch da Disposables" and "Tray Return Point".

I arranged my 3 hours duty on Wednesday. What we basically did was to attract people to our booth and let them read through those info we prepared entitled to join a lucky draw. Questionnaire had been prepared and they just need to answer the questions correctly.

Prizes of the lucky draw.

Well that's the basic duty but I had an hour duty at Giant, NTU. My job was to encourage Giant customers to bring their own bag. We gave out free recycle also =D
For me, this duty at Giant was much more easier and fun compare the duty at booth =P

---

As a Heritage member, we all were compulsory to take 4 hours duty at the Heritage Kampung Play event on Thursday and Friday.
Heritage Kampung Play aimed to bring and relief the spirit of Kampung among NTU community. Handcrafted and unique designed games exhibited help us to reminisce the good old time when we had no much technological-advanced devices.
(Photo credit to Kampung Play FB page.)

Ohya, we had our free ice cream from our boss, Tek Wui during the mass briefing before the event as a reward for the Welcome Bonding Camp. Thank you very much =D
Ignore the ugly me =.=

I had my duty on Thursday and Fri. What we had to do was only to take care the games booth. A total of 15 games were exhibited there but too bad me only manage to try a few only T_T
The big Mario exhibited.

Balancing Hook
The players take turn to hang their hook onto the bicycle wheel. Or one can simply try to place all the hooks onto the wheel without dropping it.
Anyway I won a prize from this game =P

Gone Fishing
Like it's name, just fish and achieve the targeted weight =D

Body focus
So players need to let the 3 marbles placed at the places like the one shown in the photo without touching the marble, I can't do it for even once T_T

Maze
Bring the marble through the maze and you win =D Challenge part is the time limit given!

Puzzle
Arrange all the 7 pieces of different shapes to form different shapes =D
Had a lot of fun when taking care this booth and I can make triangle and square without referring answer d =D

Focus
Player has to bring the marble from one side to the another side. Lots of focus needed =D

The Econs gang =D

As a Rotaract PD member, me went to the Photoshop Workshop on Saturday and Flag Day yesterday =D (Photo from Photoshop Workshop Event page)

We were the group in-charged that day so I reached there a lot more earlier compared to the others for the preparation.
My job that day basically was the coordinator for the 2 different venues =D
Kept in touch with the other coordinator at the other venue through FB to ensure the two tutor were teaching in the same speed.
Never know that things can be done using this way also. Hahaha =D
Learned a bit of Photoshop only cause me busy doing works throughout the workshop T_T

We went to the Flag day yesterday at Scape, Orchard.
Duty from 1 to 4pm =D
Asked a lot of people to help a good cause but my luck was not that good yesterday. But still there were kind people that help =D Thanks to those that helped!
Thanks to the 34 kind peoples that helped me =D

The free cap =D

The booklet that tell you about Rotaract.

Johor Food Trip

Disclaimer : This post contains lot of food photos, so do not view it during night time or when you are hungry. Any consequence is on your own risk.

So I came Singapore for like only 2.5 months but I went to Johor twice d =P
Like my mummy and daddy said, YES me always 乱乱走.. Hehehe =P

Actually the purpose to Johor was kinda obvious, but if anyone of you don't know then nevermind also =P [ Go find out yourself my dear =D ]
So the first trip there was in mid September and the second was on last weekend =P

For the first trip, we actually aimed to rest ourselves only. So not much time of exploring the places. And the place we stayed was Rose Cottage Hotel,Taman Johor Jaya.
Honestly good services they provided just that for me the washroom is really a bit too small. (Washroom is always the main point for me to choose a hotel.)
A good service budget hotel. (Photo from Google)

Taman Johor Jaya is like a small town and it locates quite far from Larkin Bus Terminal actually. Public transport to there ain't so frequent so better be prepared for this.
The first dinner I had there was at the hawkers center nearby.
Sorry for the poor photo quality. But this was where I had my dinner.

Our dinner =D

India Rojak

Popiah

For second morning, we went to another hawker food center nearer to our hotel to have our breakfast.

This was surprisingly nice (Y)

We then walked to Jusco Tebrau. Wasn't a short journey but still manageable.
Went shopping for some stationery and the Popular there is named Harrison if not mistaken. Anyway the pricing for stationery there is a little bit higher than average.

We then watched a movie also =D
The Internship. A good movie to watch =D
And yes your eyes got no problem, the photo is blur. Hahahaha =P

Went to Elmigos Mexican Restaurant to have our lunch.
Sky Juice. Don't ask why the lemon slide was there.

My mushroom pasta =D Very mushroom =D

And his cheese baked seafood pasta.

We then walked to the Tesco beside Jusco Tebrau for some groceries shopping.
Before we started our shopping, we went for this =D
And this is so far the only Starbucks I went with Drive Thru Service.

After getting all the groceries bought, we walked back to the hotel for a rest and then we went to a street nearby to have our dinner. The street is all conquered by the food stalls and eventually there was a big crowd there! The fun part of food hunt was that you won't know what you going to have =P

He had his Bak Kut Teh and Dim Sum

while me had my vegetarian mihun =D

Rushed back for the next morning so didn't manage to end our trip with pleasant breakfast.

Can't get enough from the recess week so we planned a spontaneous trip to Johor Bahru last weekend =D I know right, fat die me T_T
But it's really worth for nice food with the best companion =D

Reached Johor Bahru in the evening and went to check in for our hotel. This time we had Citrus Hotel. It locates just behind Johor Bahru City Square and it is only a walking distance from the Immigration Checkpoint. Yeap, Johor Bahru City Square is connected to the JB Sentral and is connected to JB Immigration Checkpoint.
The hotel for this time was way better in term of it's washroom compared to the previous one but the expenses were a lot more higher too T_T (Photo from Google)

After a rest we went to Jalan Meldrum to have our dinner.
It is again a street with lot of food stalls and crowded along the street.
Sugar cane =D

This wasn't like the usual one we had in KL

Ikan bakar which tasted awesomely =D

Wanted to try their chicken wings but too bad that we were both full.
We then walked to Johor Bahru City Square for window shopping and we had our desserts =D

McD Ice Cream =D

We had this as our brunch in Sat morning =D

Cheese Crepe

This is awesome!

We both "love" walking so much so we then walked to Danga City Mall. And this was incredibly insane I can say.
But it was kinda worthy for the long walk cause we got to buy cheaper groceries at UO there. Just that we can actually consider about public transports in future.
After the groceries shopping, we went to Taman Pelangi. Yes again by walking. Another crazy act =P

Our purpose there was for food!
When we reached we found this restaurant - 食尚玩家!
This is actually a TV program that we used to watch and restaurant with same name attract us a lot.
The food served was nice also =D

The Takoyaki.

The cheese chicken ball rice that surprise us a lot =D
It wasn't the usual chicken ball and it tasted truly nice!

The one =D

We then went to La Gourmet Desserts which supposed to be the main point we walked to Taman Pelangi.

This is for the mango lovers! Mango ice cream, mango, mango pudding, mango ice..

Not much comment about this =P

We wanted to try these but cause only 2 of us, we dare not to order. (Photos from Google)

Seems so attractive right?

We then went to Plaza Pelangi to wait for bus and we went back to hotel after that =D
Our dinner was settled at Summer in City Square =D
Teriyaki Chicken

Pan Fried Fish with rice

Went back to hotel and I watched "The Stolen Five Years".
God damn, why on earth there was such sad ending story? T_T

For Sunday morning, we prepared ourselves and checked out from the hotel. Really a nice hotel and can try on next time again (Y)

We went to City Square to have our lunch and this was where we went.
T-Bowl =D

The only nice thing I tasted in their restaurant was this T_T

The cheese baked mushroom rice. The whole thing taste nice but the mushrooms were like raw and tasted awkward TT

His rice but I don't even dare to have a taste cause he said it wasn't nice =(

Before went back, we went for a movie again. "Rhythm of The Rain"
A good story but the ending part a bit confusing for me. Me not artistic enough ='(

There goes my 2 trips in Johor. Do you have any questions leave me a comment =P

Love,
WanQi
