Adventure in 2014 - The Roller Coaster Year

Don't need me to repeat this, but yes 2014 is going to end! (In not more than 7 hours) *Sobx* cause I have yet to do anything big in my 21 leh.... #Emo
But well, 2014 had been a really different year for me. In terms of EVERYTHING I guess? A year with so many unexpected events, I was like riding on a roller coaster all the time!

So let's see the few BIG things in 2014.

1. I'm OFFICIALLY an adult
Thanks everyone for being with me all these while and making my first 21 years on this earth awesome!
Erhemmmmmm, yes, I know I am old ;( But being 21yo, it means responsibility, it means maturity, it means freedom. It simply means I am heading to another stage of life!

Could not stop appreciating all the awesome people around me all these while. You guys made me better, a lot better :)
3.1.14 I swore to be a better daughter, sister, friend, student, citizen and better human.

My family from another home away from home :)

The best people I have in life :)

And I know I will always be the little one for them :)

Those who getting old together with me!

2. Letting go someone who was once so important to me
Thanks for the lesson you taught me. Thanks for all the sweet and bitter memories. Thanks for all the love, support, encouragement, disappointment and pain you once gave me. I appreciate all of them, it was part of my life and it made the "ME" today.
Went through a really rough patch of my life. Wasn't even realise that I could be this fragile sometimes. It took me a relatively long time to recover as all I did was letting the time to heal me.

It is not a path that one can survive easily. It takes time for me to learn, to try and to success. All these while, I am glad that I have all my listeners. Thank you, all the angels in my life :)

And yes, after all, I MOVED ON :)

Now, I am waiting for the YOU who can make ME happy :)

3. The end of freshman year and the start of sophomore year
Thanks for the privilege given :) For me to have entire different university life compared to the other peers :)
The end of something worth remember :) Every crazy thing we went through together, every jokes created when we met each other basically every single day haha :) After all, we ain't that young to have such crazy campus life d?

The best part of life is you got to know more friends in every different stage of life! And for my freshman year, the bunch that I can't live without - the bosses :)
My Year 1 diaries here :)

Hope this bond of us will never fade with time :)
Wish all of you know, how important you guys are to me :)

4. Travel abroad alone! (Not that alone though)
Thanks for the smooth and great trip :) Thanks for the one who willing to bear with my temper throughout the trip :)
One of the highlight of my 2014!
I went to Taiwan with my sister during June. Well, I promised to blog about it but hahahahaha, it's still in making :P Uploaded all the photos at my FB anyway, so yeap please enjoy that first :)

One of the most unforgettable trip I had :) Our first time to have full control on our solo trip, from planning till the execution. Still can't really believe that I went there :)
And now, can't wait to have my first solo trip in coming year :)

Can I go back again please?

5. The FOC!
From nothing to something, from no one to everyone, we built and created, the memories, the friendship, for the freshies and for us to bring along for the whole university life :)
Another highlight of the year!

All the events we went through together. You can really see the power of getting all the passionate people working together. We want for nothing, but to help and assist the juniors :) The feeling, way too awesome and I just couldn't describe it using words :D
I had my FOC diary here :)

And I promise, to do my very best, to create a better FOC for the coming year!

6. The starting point of my dream
Nothing comes easy and there's no free lunch. You will need to grab the opportunity, you will need to sacrifice something. But the result, will be the dream, you wanted the most!
I always wanted to be entrepreneur, to be business woman. A dream since I am 6 I guess?
I am glad that I found a stepping stone to start directing my life towards what I want.
The experience gained while managing the push cart is just too precious. And of course, all thank to the partner and the helpers :)

Must not forget that I joined the MIE program too! Mixing with all these ambitious people, with all the business plans running in their mind. Nothing other than exciting!

The partner and the helpers :)
Ya lol, I was so "man" to be in this all man team haha :D

With no fear, for our dream, we are on our way!

7. The worst year as a student
Result is equivalent to your efforts to win the war.
I practically forgot that I am a student, LIKE SERIOUSLY. Academic as usual always not my first priority and now I feel the Karma. Hate to say that, but even though I have been doing so well in all other things, I failed as a student. AND NOW IT'S TIME TO BUCKLE UP. After all, I also have not much time left to have this identity.

No point regretting but this sh*tty result acts as a very big motivation for me. I NEED TO SUSTAIN MY SCHOLARSHIP.
Jiayou :)

Things turned bad sometimes, but good things happened in my 2014 too!
I am glad that I am given such a nice chance for me to realise the needs and urges for me to be strong, be independent, be contented and be better.
I am happy with what I have now :) But I know I will need to do a lot more to sustain what I have now.

Thanks everyone for everything that made me happy :)
And sorry for everything I made you unhappy :(

2014, you will be missed :)
2015, you will be good, I promise :)

MIE 3D2N Camp

Yes, I know I am being efficient this time hehe :P
So I just came back from the MIE 3D2N camp yesterday.

What's this MIE? It's actually one of the most hectic minor programme offered in NTU - Minor In Entrepreneurship.
But then, there's no other minor programme that will actually offer you a chance to join a free 3D2N camp also. So yeap, MIE just way too different.

I was quite reluctant to the camp at first actually. My first time being super not excited over a camp and I don't really know why was I that worry =.=
I was even thinking to just ffk at the very last minute LOL. But ya, luckily I went for it!
It was one of the most chillax camp I have ever had. Met so many new people which I now know them as friend :)

I think the packing list itself brought me a lot of fear d =.=

Gathered at the NTC building and we departed to SAFRA, YiShun around 9am from NTU. Was chatting with the girls while we were on the bus and it was a really good start.
We were divided into 3 groups after the introduction by the person-in-charge, Peizhi from Camelot and the mass ice breaking, the thumb war :)

I was in the group led by Wayne, the instructor. Wayne requested our team to introduce ourselves in 180 seconds and it was freaking hard wey hahaha :D Eventually everyone asked the same question "How long more?".
And after we done with the self intro, we need to set our team name and the goals.
Our team name - 180 (You know why) and thanks to Joel, one of our goals was to take care one another (Don't let Wan Qi and Rita drown). So lovely of them right?

After lunch, we had our first challenge - Canopy Sky Walk aka the height elements.
We had all of this!
Before we went for it, the Zig-Zag Trail seems to be the scariest, but no, the Broken Island was more terrifying. Each step is a big step!
Flying fox too short d :P

Not me, but some of my teammates there on the Cargo Net Bridge.

And then we had the next challenge - The 25m Sport Climbing Wall.
Joel, as the model of the day :) He managed to reach the top!
Sadly, I can only reach the minimum benchmark - 4m.
Gotta conquer it next time, I promised hehe :D

After that was the sharing and off we went to Pulau Ubin!
The "before" photo with team 180 and Wayne :)
Photo by Joel with HTC phone, crystal clear leh!

Built our tent with the help from the guys and tadaa this was my home for 3 days :
5 people in a 8-man-tent, very nice accommodation actually :)

The tent for the guys.
Photo taken at the very last day, so don't ask me why it was out of shape :P

Had our dinner after that :)

The sharing session after wash up :) I also forgot what me sharing LOL =.=

Was allowed to have free and easy time after that and light off at 10.30pm. It was like the only few nights I slept this earlier throughout the year of 2014 leh!
We had our Whatsapp group in the very first night. No doubt we were super efficient in everything related to welfare :P

Everyone of us got the chance to lead the team :)

Woke at 7am the next morning and after the nice breakfast, we had the water activity :)
The plan of the day though we didn't make it to the checkpoint 3 cause of the weather :)

According to Jack, they were having this very serious discussion in the tent the night before the water activity. They plotted the coordinates nicely and planned the route nicely (Y) So how not to trust this bunch of people will protect me?

After the buoyancy test and right before we headed out to kayak :P

Emmanuel (The second guy from left at behind) was assigned to pair with me. He is from Navy and no point not to trust him hehe :D My life is under super nice supervision! Anyway, because he was the navigator for our team, we were supposed to be at the front, but I think for the first part of the journey, I dragged a lot. Opps, sorry for not being able to turn left and right correctly at first and thank you for your patience :D

After reaching the 2nd checkpoint, we were asked to build a raft using our kayaks and ropes. So all the guys did the planning and tadaa~~

Were busy preparing and building the raft which can take all 14 of us :)

We were all on the raft and we managed to reach the next checkpoint safely!
And a big round of applause to Sylvester who did all the maintenance of the raft :)
Anyway, I was at behind and you can't really see me from the photos haha :D
Was initially at the center of the raft (very safe and secure place), but decided to change to right behind in the middle of the journey so the others can get rest too :)

After lunch, we continued our journey again with the kayak. Emmanuel was still with me and haha, we really at the very front of our team! Just paddle and paddle and paddle hahaha :)
Thanks to Sylvester as he didn't really splash water to me cause of knowing me can't swim haha :P

We were asked to raft up (2 or more kayakers paddle side by side and hold onto each other's kayak) and few tasks were given to us.
We (the one at the front of the kayak) were asked to stand up together while we were still in the middle of the sea and only allowed to sit after we sang a song.
It required a lot of trust and weee, we managed to do it also!
One of the task given to us was to change to another boat and change our partner.
Not that difficult too :P

After we done with kayaking!
Thanks God, I didn't capsize at all :)
And don't know why, but we were the first team to reach hahaha :P

Went to Ubin town after wash up, and again we were the first team to head out. Really welfare team :P

Having a good time chilling there and chit-chatting :)
Knew them better especially about their businesses.
A lot of bosses there in my team!

After the dinner and again the sharing, as the third day IC, we had briefing and discussion too :)
Then again, light off at 10.30pm and woke at 7am :)
The jungle trekking and exploring day :)

Headed out after we kept our tent and belongings safely :)
Went to the first checkpoint and although the mission failed at last, but we still glad that we managed to make it there!
Very nice and chill walk with all of them throughout the day and we managed to share a lot!

Went to all the other checkpoints too and yes we cooked our lunch ourselves :) Outdoor cooking but too bad no photos haha :) With no surprise, we were the first team to cook our pasta lunch hahaha :P

We were at the top of Bukit Puaka, Pulau Ubin :)

One of the very interesting activity I had :)

With our secret code hahaha :)

The chicken little pose for our Zi Song :)

I told you we were all chilling and having fun :)

After the jungle trekking, as the first team to reach our campsite (Yes, again), we had the last sharing session and the closing ceremony :)
Pretty Alisa getting the certificates on behalf of us :)

That's pretty much about the camp :)
Before we bid goodbye, sure we need to have group photos!

Peizhi was urging us to board the boat, but well, let's take a groupfie first :)

And for sure we need to take groupfie in the boat :P

And last, the "after" photo of team 180 :)

I wouldn't want to say I learned a lot throughout the camp, but, I experienced a lot. A very eye-opening kind of camp which allowed you to have all the trial-error experiences. You won't be judged, and what you need to do is to trust.

Nevertheless, the best part of the camp, the new friends I made. All of them have a different life story to tell, and not-those-normal-boring-story you can imagine.
They are all here for a purpose, to know more people and to prepare themselves better for their dream. Knowing people like this just make me excited! Can't wait for the classes so I can know them even better!

Lastly,
One of the best morning scenery I had :)
